This is a new exciting addition for the Sanxing family. I have witnessed so many fantastic transformations. That is why i love my job so much. It is what you guys bring to my clinic that makes it so rewarding. So i would like to acknowledge so of these great achievements with a Patient of the Month segment. For privacy reasons i have asked the person if i can discuss them but not to mention names etc..

December

A young guy (from a very healthy family) was brought to me with severe sinusitis and weight loss (he had lost 6 kg over 6 weeks - which the doctor knew about). So the first priority in people with really bad sinusitis (after excluding any serious health issues), is help to decrease the mucous production so they don't feel full in the stomach and sickly - often sinuses react, to foods, or environmental aggravations like pollens or cat dander.

He started on some strong immune boosters, zinc and Vitamin C and made some diet changes. AFter a few weeks he felt the sinusitis was settling (a CT scan revealed a big polyp).

Then it was time to put on weight. Overall he had lost nearly 10kg, which is a lot of weight to lose. He has been an excellent patient - he takes protein powder , has given up pies and junk food (which he used to eat alot of) and is going to the gym regularly. Over a 5 week period he has gained 2.5kg of muscle which is excellent and only a slight hint of sinusitis, which the specialist said to leave for now. Well Done!

November

The husband of one of my clients came along in Nov for weight loss. He was very motivated and had done much of the convincing he needed, so was already committed  to changing his health and lifestyle. I really just needed to give hime guidance and dietary advice. And to provide a  few other natural things to get his body in an optimal state to lose weight and some magnesium for stress management and a raised blood pressure.

All up, he was 11.2 kg over weight, biological age of  39.6 (real age 34).

In a very short period of time he turned things around. He started exercising 3-5 times a week. He began to eat more regularly, protein + carb and took his supplements (a large percentage of people forget to take their supplements and wondering why they dodn't see improvements. Sups are best in a place that you use every day eg beside the tea bags, ontop of the fridge etc.).

After 4 weeks, he turned things around so much that he lost nearly 4kgs. His energy levels had improved and he didn't feel as stressed.

Octobers Patient of the month

This vibrant, go-getter has always been very healthy and primarily is a vegetarian. She has a touch of psoriasis which is worse when she is run down and stressed. Generally she leads the life of most active Gold Coasters and enjoys a few drinks with friends on the week-end.

She regularly takes folic acid (which is very important for women of child-bearing age and especially if you are vegetarian as it is mainly from meats), Magnesium, flaxseed and a multi. She was started on a hormone balancing tablet in July and the difference has been remarkable. Regarding her diet, she was encouraged to eat more proteins (nuts, seeds, quality grains such as amaranth and brown rice). She always is active. She was mainly started on the hormone balancing tablet as her periods were quite heavy - which was a change for her.

Over a month, she lost 3 kg of fat, and gained approximately 300g of muscle. Her period returned to normal and she looked a million dollars! This turn around is spectacular and am very impressed. Great Work!
